It has been alleged that the individual identified as a “solemnly professed confrere,” who engaged in conduct characterized as “unwanted sexual advances” toward a junior member of the monastic community, was Reverend Michael‑Leonard Hahn, O.S.B. Said individual presently identifies as Michael Hahn, Ph.D. According to publicly available information on the official website of Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, Dr. Hahn currently serves in the capacity of Assistant Dean within the School of Education and holds the position of Program Director for Character and Virtue Education at the institution.

Fr. Licari’s dismissal from the board was due to an alleged incident of sexual misconduct. My recollection, from conversations with you and others, was that Fr. Licari was accused of making inappropriate contact with a minor while he served as pastor at Holy Name Parish in Medina, Minnesota. It is further my understanding that Fr. Licari did not dispute the contact, though (as one would expect) he disputed the intent.

I told you [Koopmann’s] story was yet to be told!! I sent him an email once telling him one day his secrets would be made public and his hypocrisy would do him in. Two weeks later he decided to resign from his position as president of SJU. Still the one guys I know for sure he performed oral sex on in the abbey, who is no longer a monk, will NOT say a word – he’s still very loyal to the order. Father Brennan Maiers Dies at 86
