Brother David Ostrowski, age 27, is a native of Minneapolis. The son of Donald and the late Joyce Ostrowski, he attended Saint John’s Preparatory School from 1975-1979 and Augsburg College in Minneapolis from 1979-1983 where he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Currently Brother David is studying for the priesthood at Saint John’s School of Theology and will be ordained a transitional deacon on 30 September in the Abbey Church. In addition to theology studies, Brother David serves as music sacristan and one of the Abbey organists, sings in the Abbey Schola, and is a member of the fire team. Beginning this fall he will also serve as an assistant prefect in the Saint John’s Prep dorm.

Father David Ostrowski, 28, was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Jerome Hanus, OSB, on 2 June 1989 in Saint John’s Abbey Church. He celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving at his home parish, Saint Boniface in Minneapolis, on Sunday, 4 June.
A native of Minneapolis, Father David is the son of Donald and the late Joyce Ostrowski. He attended Saint John’s Preparatory School from 1975-1979 and earned a B.A. degree in Psychology from Augsburg College in Minneapolis in 1983. He has been a monk of Saint John’s Abbey since 11 July 1985 when he began studying for the priesthood.
On 28 May of this year Father David graduated from Saint John’s School of Theology where he earned a Master of Divinity degree.
While at the abbey, in addition to his theology studies, Father David served as one of the abbey organists, music sacristan, sang in the abbey schola, was a member of the fire team, and this past year served as an assistant prefect in the preparatory school dorm. Since 1 July of this year, Father David has been serving as an associate pastor at Saint Bernard’s Church in Saint Paul.
