COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Abbot Timothy (Thomas) Kelly, OSB, ninth abbot of Saint John’s Abbey for eight years (1992-2000) and president of the American-Cassinese Congregation of Benedictine men for nine years (2001-2010), died at Collegeville, Minnesota, on 7 October 2010. He was born on 20 April 1934, professed monastic vows on 11 July 1955, was ordained to the priesthood on 3 June 1961, was elected and confirmed abbot on 27 November 1992, and received the abbatial blessing on 10 January 1993.
