In May of 2024, a former Saint John’s Abbey monk met (over Zoom) with an investigator with the Stearns County Sheriffs Office to share information about the abbey, its history and information that might help solve the “death” of Rev. Bruce Wollmering. During that conversation, the investigator learned that the individual had been victimized by a monk.

Father Columba Stewart, OSB was contacted on four occasions via email (July 23, 2021; October 24, 2021; March 1, 2024; April 5, 2024) to discuss his Grindr account.

Father Stewart did respond once, on July 23, 2021:

“… if you have a question about HMML, let me know.”

On at least one occasion, Father Stewart messaged a potential sexual partner that he was using the Collegeville Institute (Apartment #8, to be exact) as his private Grindr hookup location.

Stewart pursued at least one guest (a student?) who was living on campus with his multiple nude photos which we have decided not to publish at this time.

In December of 2022, Michael L. Hahn, Br. Dennis Beach O.S.B., Abbot John Klassen O.S.B., and Jennifer Meyer – along with the individual who Abbot John Klassen once described as having been victimized in 2017 by then Rev. Michael Hahn OSB – signed a document to settle a claim that was to be filed in United States Court, District of Minnesota by a former Saint John’s Abbey monk and Saint John’s University student.

Said individual presently identifies as Michael Hahn, Ph.D. According to publicly available information on the official website of Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, Dr. Hahn currently serves in the capacity of Assistant Dean within the School of Education and holds the position of Program Director for Character and Virtue Education at the institution.

Fr. Licari’s dismissal from the board was due to an alleged incident of sexual misconduct. My recollection, from conversations with you and others, was that Fr. Licari was accused of making inappropriate contact with a minor while he served as pastor at Holy Name Parish in Medina, Minnesota. It is further my understanding that Fr. Licari did not dispute the contact, though (as one would expect) he disputed the intent.

I told you [Koopmann’s] story was yet to be told!! I sent him an email once telling him one day his secrets would be made public and his hypocrisy would do him in. Two weeks later he decided to resign from his position as president of SJU. Still the one guys I know for sure he performed oral sex on in the abbey, who is no longer a monk, will NOT say a word – he’s still very loyal to the order. Father Brennan Maiers Dies at 86

Father Brennan Maiers was inappropriate with at least six individuals, the youngest victim was believed to be eleven years old. In 1992, the abbey settled with one of Maiers’ victims.

His victims would likely disagree with this line of his obituary:
